When you click the button for Category maintenance in the Products main menu, the view switches to the category management screen and the categories created so far are shown immediately: (Example from Nekom Demo)

If a displayed category also has subcategories, this is indicated by a blue right arrow for drill-down. Clicking the arrow shows the subcategories; clicking again hides them:

The function buttons shown on the right (UP / DOWN, select and delete) can be used for main and subcategories for sorting, creating new categories, and also deleting. Sorting or moving categories between different main categories can also be done by clicking and holding the mouse (drag & drop). Please note that categories can only be deleted if no products are assigned to them anymore, the category itself is not active for a shop display, and it has no further subcategories.
With the blue Create button at the bottom right of the category overview, new categories can be created. Without selecting anything beforehand, a new main category (without subcategory) is always created. If you select an existing category before clicking Create (circle icon between sorting and delete), the new category will be created as a subcategory within the selected category.

For creating or maintaining categories, the same form is used (see below). Name = used for display and selection/assignment in the Nekom App. This name is only transferred to shop systems if no short name is stored; example: DE_MEN_TROUSERS (Shop-DE / Category Men / Subcategory Trousers)
Description = can be entered if needed. By default, nothing is exported to shop systems here.
Short name = the short name is sent to external shops as the display name. If empty, the category name is sent. In the above example, “TROUSERS” would be sufficient, because the main categories and the category tree are also transmitted.
The ISO code function is only required for special systems.
EXT-ID = shows the ID of your shop system as soon as the category has been transferred to your shop.
Active = toggle flag that controls whether this category is currently shown in your shop system. Before categories can be deleted, the category must be inactive and all product assignments must be removed.
